I was born and raised in The Northeast of America. The region is known for getting some fierce storms, known locally as “nor’easters,” so I chose that theme because even though I have endured my share of storms, I am always seeking the sunrise.
I prefer quality over quanity so I try to post an Essay once a week, usually on a Sunday or a Monday night. Other than that, I will let my work speak for itself.
The above video was filmed on 7 September 2008. The photograph was taken on the morning of 23 March 2008: Easter Sunday. (Click to see full size.)

Essays is my main Category.
Storm Stories is a series running throughout January of 2009.
Storms of Controversy address matters in which the church has taken its eyes off The Gospel–the compassion, the mercy, the forgiveness, the grace, the love of God, and The Teachings of Christ.
SunBeams, for the most part, shine and showcase my ridiculous sense of humor.
SunRise is my best work.
SunShine & Rainbows show more of the “not-playing-with-a-full-deck” side of my sense of humor on video.
SnowFlakes are never alike so expected the unexpected.
“And May The Sun Never Set…” features quotations, both serious and not so, from America’s national pastime, and the most quotable of sports, baseball.
Poetry is included once in a while. Sometimes mine, sometimes not.
The Church of Misfits features observations, lessons, and revelations from “The Most Unsuccessful Church In The History of Christianty: The Church of Misfits: A Place For The Rest of Us.”
Thunder is a Page that contains podcasts of my posts. I created this for the visually impaired (though you can certainly download if you wish). But if you are sighted and you know someone who is blind that might like to listen, please share.
Living Water is part of the Bloggers’ Bible Study, which was published six days a week at various blogs and on Thursdays here.
Visibility is a protected page.
Book of Pstorms is mostly a collection of modern-day psalms with a few proverbs and insights thrown in for good measure.
Rose of Roses resembles Song of Songs, but begins with my quest to find “a wife of God’s choice”.

I hope I haven’t missed you! just wanted to say thanks for stopping by my blog today. I am also a writer. I’m writing about my 2 abortions as a teenager…it is titled “The Day I Told My Daughter” – I never thought “then” I would be telling my daughter today what I had done. It will cover that whole journey. I finally told her last Sept., I have yet to write about that part. I have a long way to go yet
I am praying for you now as you work hard this next month to give your publisher something.
Thanks for stopping by. And for your words of encouragement. You’ve got quite a journey ahead. I’ll be praying for you, too.
Yes, I expected a real, live picture!
I love the addition of photography – who helped? The bear is great – but I sure would like to kick him and get him back on the job. But…I won’t, never wake a sleeping bear.
Have a Happy Resurrection Day!
Sorry about that, Michelle. But you have to admit, I make a nice snowman!
I finally figured out how to upload photography. Yay!
Thanks for not waking a sleeping bear. He can get pretty grumpy if you wake him early (which some people have recently learned).
I did have a GREAT day yesterday. Bell choir went very well–even though I got lost several times, I didn’t advertise my mistakes so no one knew. And then I was the ‘guest conductor’ for “Jesus Christ Has Risen Today.” And that actually went better than my being in the bell choir. Not bad for a man who has a 60% hearing loss, eh?
So…TheNorEaster had a great Easter! Heh.
Guest conductor? Wow, not bad at all!!
God is amazing – His mercies are new every morning!
thanks for stopping by my blog… all the best!
Thanks. Heh. I’m certainly giving it my best. Well, okay. I always have. I just have to find out if my best is good enough.
Hi NorEaster, thanks for visiting my blog. I am glad I have found another blog of substance that I can read and think on. I’ll definitely be back for more! God Bless, ripplegirl.
Hi, Ripple. I’m always grateful when someone appreciates substance. It takes a lot of effort, but, to me, it’s worth it. Though, of course, every once in a while I do lighten up. God be with ye, Milady.
love you NOR! wondering if John 5 will appear today..or if you would help me put my picassohead on my avatar…or if you are awake? I ask a lot of questions huh? well from one misfit to another..hope you had a good night, and get some sleep today!
Aaahh!!!
[I'm still running...Still running...]
[Later.] Just sent you an e-mail ’splaining the whole thing.
Nor,
Reading some of your older stuff tonight.
Brother your ability to just Love is awesome. Regardless of circumstance…
Don’t worry I know you are imperfect so I won’t be surprised when you let me down, I promise…
I will just love you.
Love you brother.
I really needed to hear that, Carl. My muscles are so sore my bones ache. And there are times my soul is spent. And still other times I am concerned about the reactions I’ll get when I do chose to stand by my convictions, but win, lose, or draw…
…I’ll stand.
What an amazing way to start the day! I think I’ll be watching this video every morning, from now on.
Gorgeous!
Thanks, Nor!
Well, Michelle. You know me.
I am always seeking the sunrise.
Hey Nor, love the video!
Thanks, Ric.

Hi NorEaster,
I do remember you and your fencepost project.
Thanks for visiting my blog, and for the link to my blog from yours. I am already getting hits from your link.
…Rolin
Rolin:
Wonderful to hear from you again! I can’t believe you remembered my fencepost project, especially with so many people coming and going.
My time in God’s Katrina Kitchen was the greatest week of my life. It made me TheNorEaster.
And, like you had said, the stories will continue to be told to children and to grandchildren. I, too, have looked carefully. And I have found that The Kitchen has never closed.
Hope to stay in touch, Brother Rolin.
Hey Nor,
Love your comic humor (over at Drew’s). My comments were also completely tongue-in-cheek… but then you probably already know this.
Hey, Ric!
Yes, I did know your humor was tongue-in-cheek. That’s why I had so much fun with everything. Heh.
Thanks for stopping by. And, uh, you know…you want to sign up for Storm Stories? There are still a few spots open, you know.
Under “normal” conditions, I would. Right now however, I am merely a consumer of encouragement. I suspect I will enjoy your series from that perspective.
Ric: Hope you enjoy what we have to offer!
Oh. And, you know, Merry Christmas.
I know it’s late, but well-meant, anyway. Merry Christmas, and have a very happy new year. There is strength for every trial when we call on the name of the Lord.
Merry Christmas, ‘Pen!
And a brave new year!
As for me, I’m still calling on Him. Now and forever.
For always.
I think I misunderstood your Storm Stories concept. Let me know if you have another slot and would still be interested. I love storytelling.
Hi, Ric. I just sent you an e-mail with the details. Hope the date works out for you. And thanks for signing up!
Hey, I linked over from Don’s blog…I love your comment on his U2 post. That is exactly how I view the world. And I love the concept of this site. I’ll visit again.
Hi, Emily. Thanks for stopping by. I am always glad to have a new visitor, especially if she is a fan of U2. (And, you know, Don Miller ain’t half bad, either. Heh.) And it is especially encouraging to learn that another can see the artistic masterpiece of God’s Image through the graffitti of a fallen world. I am very much looking forward to your future comments.
Hello Nor! Just came over to say congratulations for your win over on the Grit.
Congratulations!
Thanks, @ngie!
